The only downside was the check-in process. We had booked through Booking.com, where bookings could be made at any time. In our case, this happened at 9:28 pm. The reason for the last-minute booking was our urgent need for accommodation, as an initial booking on-site had fallen through. Since we were already there, especially with our two children, we definitely needed somewhere to stay. After successfully booking through Booking.com, we were then unpleasantly surprised to learn that, according to the owner, check-in after 9 pm could no longer be guaranteed. If that's the case, then the accommodation shouldn't even be listed on Booking.com after 9 pm. After numerous unsuccessful attempts to contact them and a nerve-wracking discussion with the owner, we finally gained access to the apartment at 10:10 pm and collapsed into bed, exhausted.
