  • The backdrop: The fine-sand beach is around 70 meters wide at this point and offers excellent space for romping. Your dog will appreciate the feeling of the fine sand under its paws.
  • Water quality: The excellent bathing water quality has been awarded the Blue Flag. Since the shore slopes gently, entering the cool Baltic Sea is effortless and safe for dogs of all sizes.
  • Seasonal regulation: From May 1 to September 30, the stay for leashed dogs is limited to this specially designated beach section. During the rest of the year, the entire beach of the region is open to you and your leashed dog.
  • Location & Arrival: You will find the beach section at Dünenstraße 9–10 (17419 Heringsdorf) between Ahlbeck and Swinemünde at the level of entrances A 1 and A 2. Since parking bans apply in the immediate vicinity, we recommend the beach parking lot at the border crossing to Swinemünde. From there, a beautiful, approximately two-kilometer walk through a shaded wooded area leads you directly to the sea.
  • Special tip: An extended walk along the pier over to Swinemünde is easily possible at any time thanks to the removal of border controls.

The dog beach in Bansin/Heringsdorf

Another excellent meeting point for discerning dog owners is located on the border between the seaside resorts of Heringsdorf and Bansin. This section is considered one of the most extensive and picturesque on the entire Baltic island.

  • Facilities & Safety: The fine sandy beach also slopes gently. In the high season, trained lifeguards provide additional safety. On-site, there is also a comfortable beach chair rental and a snack bar that also offers special dog food.
  • Seasonal regulation: Here too, the leash requirement applies in the designated dog area from May 1 to September 30. Outside of these months, you and your leashed dog are very welcome on the entire beach.
  • Location & Accessibility: The beach is located at Strandpromenade 1 (17429 Heringsdorf) at the level of the Sackkanal near entrances 6 H and 6 I. Convenient parking is located just 500 meters away.
  • Excursion alternatives: Should the sun hide behind the clouds, the nearby Bansin cliffs invite you to spectacular walks with panoramic views. The idyllic Schloonsee in the immediate vicinity is also an excellent destination for a relaxed round in the countryside.

Both sections are characterized by fine sand and a very shallow entry into the Baltic Sea.

In the high season from May 1 to September 30, dogs are very welcome at the specially signposted dog beaches and must be kept on a leash there. From October 1 to April 30, you may use the entire beach line of the imperial spas for extended walks with your leashed dog.
