Set off on Friday evening, hear the sea on Saturday morning, and walk barefoot on the beach. When the stress of the crowded city sets in, a visit to the island provides instant deceleration. Wide vistas, a clean, well-kept promenade, green nature, and fresh air. Thanks to the unique Kaiserbäder architecture, a short break always feels like a journey back in time and offers inspiration. A short break on Usedom is possible with just a little planning and the right home for a few days. Whether by car or train—you can reach the Kaiserbäder from places like Berlin in just 3 hours. Before your visit, it is always worth checking the Kaiserbäder tourism program, as it offers plenty of entertainment year-round, from theater performances and readings to comedy, light shows, stage programs, and concerts.

In the OSTKÜSTE Boutique Apartments, you will find a special short break in a historic villa of the Kaiserbäder: with high ceilings, parquet flooring, and your own kitchen, just a few minutes’ walk from the beach. You don’t have to squeeze your time out into a hotel room with buffet stress: spacious apartments, excellent cleanliness, comfortable beds, and selected, charming mid-century design provide peace, inspiration, and space.

Here you can find out which house suits which weekend and what three days could look like.

One weekend, three days: This is what your short break could look like

Friday: Arrival

You can also book with us at short notice, as you check in digitally, drop off your bags, and take your first walk to the pier. In the evening, Uwe’s Fischerhütte in Ahlbeck beckons with fresh fish, followed by a glass in the Weinzimmer. One last time with your feet in the sea at sunset before enjoying the peace of your apartment.

Saturday: Sea, warmth, sunset

Breakfast with rolls from Genusswerk or Bäckerei Blunck in Ahlbeck, then long walks on the beach. At 508 meters, the Heringsdorf pier is one of the longest in Germany; a walk to the end is well worth it. Then a round of minigolf with Gino and Stephan in Heringsdorf or rent a bike and explore the beautiful promenade. Perhaps there is a musical program at the bandstand in Ahlbeck or Heringsdorf. For those who want to go high up: head to the treetop path and look out over the Kaiserbäder. For the adventurous: an island safari is a special experience for all who want to experience Usedom’s beautiful hinterland and can also be planned as a four-hour tour.

At sunset, head to the Ferris wheel in Heringsdorf and for a sundowner, go to Alex Strandbar in Heringsdorf or into the hinterland to Lake Achterwasser at Cafe Knatter.

For dinner, we recommend a table at Marco Polo or Genusswerk.

In the evening, warmth awaits: in your private sauna or in the Ostseetherme with Heringsdorf iodine brine.

Sunday: Forest air and a final look at the water

A walk through the spa and healing forest in Heringsdorf gives you fresh forest air before heading home. If you want to stay longer, book a late check-out.

You can find more ideas for a short break in any weather in the article Holidays with children on Usedom and, if you’re heading out on a bike, in Cycling holidays on Usedom.
