Cycle Paths on Usedom: 200 Kilometers Flat Along the Baltic Sea<\/h2>\n

Usedom is one of the most bicycle-friendly islands on the Baltic Sea. The coastal cycle path connects the imperial resorts of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf, and Bansin and continues via Streckelsberg and Zinnowitz to Peenem\u00fcnde. If you prefer to venture into the hinterland, you can cycle past Schmollensee and Gothensee, through forests and small villages where time noticeably slows down. <\/p>\n

Usedom is also a destination and stage for several long-distance cycle routes: The Berlin-Usedom Cycle Path (approx. 335 kilometers, usually in four to six daily stages) ends directly at the Ahlbeck pier, as does the Oder-Neisse Cycle Path (approx. 630 kilometers along the German-Polish border). The Baltic Sea Coastal Cycle Path (D-Route 2 \/ EuroVelo 10) from L\u00fcbeck via R\u00fcgen to the Polish border, and the Iron Curtain Trail (EuroVelo 13) along the former border, both pass through the imperial resorts. Those who ride one of these routes will find a convenient starting or finishing point in Ahlbeck and Heringsdorf. <\/p>\n

The island is predominantly flat \u2013 a good basic fitness level is entirely sufficient; a training plan is not necessary. Through the UsedomRad rental system, bicycles and e-bikes are available at over 100 stations, which is practical for anyone who doesn’t want to bring their own bike or wishes to spontaneously switch between locations. <\/p>\n

In April and May, Usedom’s hinterland awakens: dandelions, poppies, and the violet liverworts in the coastal forest of Koserow turn every tour into a small riot of color.
